Invested in St. Catharines

Jonathan was born and raised in Trinidad & Tobago, then came to St. Catharines in 2006 to study Accounting at Brock University. He fell in love with the city and what it has to offer. So, he decided to stay. Jonathan has been living in the ward as a renter and a homeowner for the past 12 years. In his professional career, Jonathan has run his own small business that supported small businesses with marketing, worked for recognized small businesses such as Niagara Inflatables and has institutional career experience at Niagara’s top employers at Niagara College and Brock University. Currently as an employee of Brock, he holds the role of Marketing Manager for the Professional and Continuing Studies department.

Active in the Community.

Jonathan has been a strong contributor and active part of many community initiatives in Port Dalhousie and St. Catharines and the Niagara Region.

He has supported the library system by running adult education workshops and Start Me Up Niagara. He was also Finance Director for Co-Work Niagara. 

He has served the city as Chair of the Clean City Task Force (Advisory Committee) for the past 7 years of his 11+ years on the committee and chaired the 2SLGBTQ+ Advisory Committee since joining it in 2022.

Most recently Jonathan has been active in Port Dalhousie as the Graphic Design and Promotions specialist for the Port Dalhousie Beautifications and Works Committee, is on the Board of the Port Dalhousie Bicentennial Planning Committee as the marketing expert, and sits as the Executive Member for Economic Development and Mundialization for the St. Catharines and Greater Niagara Twinning Association and has been a member of the GNCC’s Next Niagara Events Planning committee.

Jonathan is also a proud Big Brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and supporter of Pride Niagara.
